Case Study: Salem Lutheran Church-Early Childhood Learning Center

When Pastor Tim took a call to Salem Lutheran Church in Tomball, TX from
Living Word Lutheran Church in Jackson WI he was thankful for the friends he
left and the valuable experience gained.
After all, Pastor Tim played an instrumental
role in building a brand new Missouri Synod Lutheran Church, High School, and
later an expanded Early Childhood Center.
So, when Pastor Tim’s new congregation
asked him to draw upon his experiences and spearhead their 15-million-dollar
building expansion, Tim knew how to get the job done.
The Salem Lutheran project
called for New Offices, a Café, Community Room, Youth Room, Gymnasium, and
a large Early Childhood Center.
Having worked with Pastor Tim on projects of
the same scope, Pro Wisconsin was more than happy to offer services in Texas
and quickly joined Salem’s building planning team—offering product specifications
and budget numbers during the design phase.
Because early childhood development
is a pillar of Salem’s ministry, extra emphasis was placed on the new Early
Childhood Center. The new furniture and equipment parameters included: style,
function, quality, and affordability.
After exchanging ideas with Salem’s Early
Childhood Director Pro Wisconsin submitted 3D renderings and a detailed plan
for all classrooms.
From cribs and glider rockers in the Toddler rooms; to tables,
chairs, and imaginative kitchen set play sets in Pre-K rooms; Pro Wisconsin
specified proven, safe, commercially-rated furnishings.
The After Care Room
was an especially fun challenge. Salem’s Director insisted that this particular
room be “extra special and cool”. Her reasoning, “The After Care Room has kids
from early childhood all the way up to school age. It’s a long day for them.
We need to make it comfortable and appealing to multi-ages.”
Up to the task,
Pro Wisconsin came up with unique products such as youth couches and thoughtfully
designed the room, separating areas for the different age groups. The After
Care Room and Salem Lutheran’s Project as a whole is another example of Pro
Wisconsin going great distances to offer exemplary service.
